Watch out for hurricanes!
It will be a small group of us on our first day at the SoWa Import Market, but you should definitely stop by to see the unique, handmade goods brought in from around the globe. We’ll be at the end of Thayer Street (450 Harrison Avenue) right next to the Free Parking! On your way down Harrison check out Diseno, a store specializing in design and handmade items from Argentina. On Thayer Street, there’s Mohr & McPherson who import the most amazing pieces of furniture from around the world (I’m still waiting for someone to pick up the loveseat carved from a tree root) and you can peek in the window of Meichi Peng (Asian goods). Galeria Cubana imports gorgeous and colorful contemporary art from Cuban artists and Tour de France offers all things french, old and new, big and small, useful and purely decorative.

This week, the SoWa Sundays Music Series has Instrument starting at 12pm at the SoWa Open Market, followed by Jess Ross at 2pm. The SoWa Food & Produce Market welcomes Sarah Pray from 2 to 4 and Carmen Spada will join the SoWa Import Market at 1pm in the lot at the end of Thayer Street. Gotta love free live music!!! check out our ReverbNation page for the full 2009 artist listing.
And, if you didn’t catch them last weekend, Harvard Bookstore now has a booth at the Food & Produce Market alongside Boomerangs, the Aids Action Committee shop specializing in new and vintage clothing, accessories and home goods.
If there is a hurricane, we will be closed on Sunday. Check back here before you come over to see if we’re open!
